Bashtushastra is science of house building. ’Greha’, Geho’,’ Bhaban’, ‘Sadan’ all these words are equal to Barri. From Bedha to Bible or from Egypt to Greece we found different types of houses which were categorically different. All these were well planned, even  those stacks too.

So, we can define Bashtushastro  is such a theme or knowledge how can be the home design and above all how well planned would be interiors.

The sun is the all source of power and energy. Our earth is moving around it. So, all living creatures are dependable on earth for their existence. While rising the sun we see it is the east. And the opposite side is west, right side is north and the left side is south.

And there are four corners too northeast, southeast, southwest, northwest.

In Bashtushastro  scholars have used all these eight sided perfectly. Here they say,

• East is father side. if anyhow this side is blocked by heavier goods it symbolizes fathers or house in charge’s illness.

• Southeast side is the fire which makes people in good health.

• South bestows wealth and happiness,

• Southwest conducts with behavior.

• West gets honor.

• Southwest makes people relationship among others.

• North is for mother or governess side. So there should enough space unless  scared of mother’s illness.

• Northeast makes increase of family member.
